Window View - Hall of Mirrors

Hall of Mirrors part of palace of Versailles, was constructed at the end of the 17th century with 17 mirrors opposite 17 windows, and lit by glass chandeliers.

It was difficult to capture the view and exclude all the people but I tried.

Imagine dancing in this room it must have been glorious.

These are window views taken from the Kings Apartment just before entering the Hall of Mirrors.

Wow! Beautiful! It is always challenging to capture these kinds of places when so many people get in the way! But, you managed well. Great window scenes inside and through...

Wow, that is so massive and ornate as to be overwhelming. Truly lovely. And you're right. It would be beautiful to see a room full of dancers...perhaps from a century ago.

The hall of mirrors is one of the most famous rooms in the world and it is really beautiful. The self crowned Sunking Louis XIV tried to create with this room an infinity of physical forms.

Simone, beautiful photos of Versailles. In the late 80s I attended a costume ball there! Yes I really did! :)
